Work Starbucks Secret

<<So the Short does exist, probably to be phased out when the company can persuade people to buy 12-ounce espressos. To get the elusive Short, which is $1.43, you have to (a) know of its secret existence and, apparently, (b) order it by its proper name. Remember: small = Tall (12 ounces); Short = small (8 ounces).>>

Am I the only one in the world who still makes his own coffee?

Starbucks is for the birds! People go to Starbucks so others will know that they're well-off enough to pay $2.50 for $0.25 worth of coffee.

At least around here.

I used to drink my expresso in Italian cafes in a DEMITASSE! About 4 oz!

Here there are albertson's with starbucks INSIDE the store. I guess its so you can drink overpriced coffee while you shop.

I hate to say it but I ca't stand Starbucks coffee... always tastes a little (okay maybe alot) bitter to me like it is over roasted or something. But I'll be the first to admit I am not a coffee expert to say the least.

I used to have a job called "Coffeeman" and worked aboard cruiseships (25 years ago)---I made so much money id hate to mention it, PLUS they paid me to travel the world---simply brewed coffee with pure water and good beans is the key---I used evaporated seawater (steam distilled) with clarified butter to absorb the nasty oils---at home French roasted Sumatran and distilled water I make myself is my pref :-)

Well, you may not think you're an expert, but you hit the nail on the head Detritus. It's often 'burnt', too bitter and too acid. If you like a mellow espresso try Illy coffee, or perhaps Bei & Nanini (both italian -- should be able to find them) They are even good in a filter machine.

Also, Starbucks milk always gives me indigestion (I end up looking uncannily like this ----> )
