What is the definition of lost guns. Guns may be left somewhere but ultimately someone took them with out permission hence are stolen.

People who steal weapons are probably more likely to use them in crimes.

They do look somewhat abscent minded. But I would need the context for each agents loss of a weapon or laptop to determine if this is as horrible a story as it would appear.

What should be gleened

This article jighlights (for shock value) that 3 of three crimes were perpetrated with these guns. One of these guns was STOLEN from an agent's home. Not a breech of security, just a criminal act.

The article also states that "Some of the guns were apparently loaned out to other government departments and were not returned." This is what we should concentrate on instead of biting on this rag's attempt to sensationalize the truth by saying that "700 weapons" are missing.

While I agree that this is a breech of protocol and there are some underlying government security issues, the FBI's security is not a sieve. Please do not bite on this liberal paper's wranglings and attempts to sensationalize a story about our government.

Liberal and journalistic BS is really ticking me off. I have a journalism major in my Navigator class and he talks about how the school was intent on TEACHING the reporter how to get his OWN MESSAGE accross and NOT REPORT OBJECTIVELY!
