Kids I am looking to build a workbench.

I am looking to build a simple heavy duty workbench for my garage and need some ideas. Can anyone help?

Pictures, diagrams would help...

Thanks.

What kind of materials are you looking to build with?
What kind of work are you goin to be doign with it?
Wood work, welding, small electronics, car repair stuff?

oh and of course the ever present.. how much do you plan to spend?

I am wanting a simple but very sturdy general purpose wood bench that wont bounce on me if I am hammering on something.

8 foot in lenth and probably 30 inches in width. Under $200.00 is prefferred....

Hi, Jman! You can build a real dandy for under $200. Start with 4" x 4" Douglas fir for the legs, and consider 2" x 10"'s for the top.

If you need a plan, I can whip something up for ya.
