What got me to quit smoking were the bums who wouldn't buy their own. I couldn't afford THEIR habit along with my own!

Yoiu know how you get that moment of craving a smoke after you've quit for at least a month? You wear a thin rubber band around your wrist and snap it at moment of temptation. *Ow!!* Attention is diverted.

I tried one of those 'Stop Smoking' patches once,

The only time it worked was when I stuck it over my lips!

I smoked for 2 years and quit on the spot...I'm talking putting the cigarette out halfway through burning one...when found out that my wife (now ex) was pregnant. Never had an urge for one again...I can't stand cigarette smoke now!
Congrats to nunya & you other ex-smokers, that's a huge step and not always an easy one.
Good for you buddy!

lol that's funny

I kept an unopened pack lying around for a few days, the old saying you don't want a drink till the well runs dry applies. I figured if I had one availible I could tell myself no, but not having one would make the craving worse. The unopened pack was to prove to others I was being honest. After a week I gave them to my wife who refuses to quit
It works for me

Smoking? Habit of a lifetime.

Been smoking more than half the time I've been alive.

Never tried to quit.

They tell me it's hard work.

40 soon.

Smokin' at 40, dead before 60.

Gotta give it up.

Useful advice appreciated.

Cheers, [hang on, I'll just grab a fag] Rusty

In California, cigarettes have become a legal item that's illegal to use. In general, it is illegal in the state to smoke anywhere except inside your car and a private residence. Prisoners can't even have cigarettes. In Davis, California (a suburb of the state capital) it is further illegal to smoke within 25 feet of a public building. The Davis ordinance is nice because at public venues, you have to walk through a chimney to leave.
