With all this talk of H-bombs & pot it makes me think of...

Those old government propaganda films. For those of you that don't know about this, there is a simply awesome film archive online of these old films.

Internet Moving Images Archive: Movie Collection

There is literally thousands of movies here. Each film usually has five versions available. From a small low res .RM file for dial-up users to VCD quality .MPGs (several hundred megabytes) for broadband users that want to collect these things. And quite the range of subjects, everything from...
(note: all these movies I link to are the mid-sized divx .AVI versions of the films. Ranging from 12-50+ MB each.)

old car commercials - Corvair in Action, The 1960

to the evils of mary-jane - Terrible Truth, The 1951

to heroin is bad for you - Distant Drummer: Flowers of Darkness 1972

to better dead than red - Make Mine Freedom 1948

to how to be popular at school - Are You Popular? 1947 & Shy Guy 1947

to nobody likes a juvenile delinquent - Boy with a Knife 1956

to becoming a young woman - Molly Grows Up 1953

to becoming a responsible young man - Beginning Responsibility: Taking Care of Things 1951

and of course the infamous - Duck and Cover 1951

more fun atomic films :
A is for Atom 1953
About Fallout (1955) ca. 1955
About Fallout (1963) 1963
Atomic Alert (Elementary version) 1951
Atomic Energy as a Force for Good (Part I) 1955
Medical Aspects of Nuclear Radiation 1950
Stay Safe, Stay Strong: The Facts About Nuclear Weapons 1960

That is a very cool site. I remember when I accidentally stumbled onto it...it was very late and I was trying to drag myself away from the computer to get some sleep...then I ran into that site and I'm sure I stayed up another couple hours, and didn't even scratch the surface of all the material they have there.
