Help me fight do the right thing

Please

I have a few family members that have been lost to drugs. Not cocaine, but marijuana. I know this drug isn't as "bad" as any of the other drugs, however marijuana is still a drug. My family members (those who are on it) tell me that it's NOT addictive, and doesn't have ANY side effects.

Please help me prove them wrong. If you know of any good resources, such as quotes (with the author name), and facts of how marijuana is bad for you, please put them here.

Well lets see.. my brother...
Has been in jail a few times, was physically abusive to women, couldn't hold a job.. didn't care to hold a job.. stole from family.. ya know the "cool" stuff...
Then he got a job with my uncle where they had random drug screening.. he actually stopped.
Now .. he's married takes care of 2 kids STILL works that same job (when he's not laid off ) and is a very hard worker. He's still struggling to get by but at least he tries....

My cousin...
still on the stuff Haven't seen him for > 4 years and dont' really care too.. he has 2 kids one I'm not even sure if he cares to meet. The other I'm not sure the last time he saw him. He kinda works when he's not in jail and last I knew he was a bit behind on child support.. suprising eh? (a bit behind being .. the entire life of the child... )
Can I attribute it solely to that stuff? No but a hell of a coincidence eh?

Lost-and-Found, about the best thing I can give ya is the indisputable fact that the use of ANY kind of illegal drug carries the risk of arrest and prosecution.

This can lead to close proximity to lawyers.

THAT should give 'em something to think about!

I can't say that it is worst than anything else b/c I see the point about alcohol and tobacco being as bad for you as marijuana. I will say that his future may depend on not smoking it. All of the stuff people do to purge their systems before drug tests is soon going to be obsolete with the advent of accurate and inexpensive hair follicle testing. Many companies are moving to hair follicle testing because it is virtually unfakable. And the test can look much further back in the past.

It is illegal
It is dangerous b/c ppl are not in control while under the influence
It harms your lungs
It IS a gateway drug (very very few people pick up cocaine, crack or heroine and start there. It usually starts off with someone really liking pot and a friend saying "hey...try this..."
