How far is to far for you? What would you let your kids do?
I constantly hear people saying (when there was a trajedy involving a child) that the parents were irresposible.
People say they would never allow their kid to own a hunting rifle yet more people die on bikes. You know that kind of stuff.
Would you:
let your kid ride a bike with out pads.
Buy your kid a RM 80 Dirt bike (motorcycle) (bought mine at 20 mom again would not let me.)
Let your 11-12 year old go to the pool (lake, Pond) with friends.
have a 410 shotgun for squirling (dad let me shoot the 22)
11-12 ride your jetski (I did)
Snow ski (Mom would not let me I started at 19)
parachute ( I think i would poop myself)
skate board with buddies
11 - 12 drink a beer
play in a near by woods( I spent most of my child hood climbing trees)
fly a kite (they could get rope burn)
10 - 12 build a campfire.
What are some commonly dangerous things you let your kid do. What things do you consider "going too far".
I will allow my son to do all of the above except drink at 11-12. As far as teh parachuting, I have no problems with it but I would think he was nuts. I don't believe in being overprotective. That is just a way to kill your child's self-confidence.
These items probably account for almost all accidental deaths of children. If your child decided to start jumping the motorcycle and injured or killed themselves should you be held accountable.
