Prayer's, thought's and Word's of Condolence/Sympathy.
I Thank You all for your help in the past. your support helped me greatly in getting through a rough time in my life. I now face yet another troubling time as my wife's father is soon to pass on.
Today is a day I should be celabrating as it is my birthday. Yet how can I be happy knowing that as my life is on going his is at an end. here is a man who had to fight for every scrap that he got. Left school in the 3'rd grade and went to work, served His country in the army.
No He was not perfect, far from it. In his younger day's he was a heavy drinker/smoker, that didn't alway's care about his family like he should.(alcohol will do that.) I did not see the worst of it, but I did see some of it.
What I did see was a man who cared about his family. I drank with him, I smoked with him. I got to know him a little. He was a good man at heart wanting only good thing's for his children, and God help you if you hurt one of his. If you wanted his respect you had to earn it, and i think I did. Like a fine wine he got better with age. He quit smoking and drinking though not soon enough for the damage was already done.
Maybe it bought him a couple extra day's I don't know.
I will miss him.
For those of you who pray. I would ask a prayer for his soul, and his family that they shall have the strength to make it through this troubling time.
For those that drink. lift your glass high, and drink one in honor of Jim Colvin.
and for those who don't care. as he would have said "kiss my a..."
