Music Fans--Anyone Heard Andrew W.K.?

I picked up his latest CD, "I Get Wet". If you're not familiar with the name, it's the one that features a guy with a bloody nose on the cover....lovely.

Anyway, having listened to it, it has much potential to be a great party-type CD. But, it's production is odd. As it is, it sounds like a cross between The Cars and White Zombie. Both cool bands IMO, but it doesn't really work in combination. Which leads me to this rant:

What's the deal with albums these days? Are the producers on smack? A lot of new CD's sound like they were recorded on my old ghetto blaster (The Hives, White Stripes, et. al). The music is OK, but the sound is nasty. On the other end of the spectrum, you have these albums where all the instruments seem to be mixed together, then chopped up on some homie's turntable.

I'm a little older than I was when I got into rock/heavy metal/alternative/whatever music, but I still love it. But it seems like 99% of these new bands (or their albums, anyway) are really bad. Or is it just me?

They have some good party songs but I.... it just sounds like Blink 182 with all those new "punk bands" ...ahhhh... I'm speechless... it's crap!!! lol

The song fits in with the Coors(?) commercial..."Party hard" or whatever but nothing I would play on purpose.

It seems most music these days is all the same blah, blah
I do think it is because I am getting older though, and see through most of this new crap errr music.

I had a thread on this awhile ago.

Most new music is just background music...nothing I would just sit, relax and listen to, OR Hang out with friends and throw a few back to.

Some of these new bands are ok and have decent lyrics................but just blah and I don't like the delivery.Nothing I, personally would purchase.


"Lets start a party" seems like it was written just to be on a Jock Rock album or something.


and when warthog chimes in, I'll have him know some of POD's songs have grown on me (except "alive", I still find the chorus annoying) but they need to work on the choruses on their songs still..........click, click BoOm

And I hope this is not the "new fad" that I will be hearing all the time :-/
