cashier's checks & money orders

That is an available payment option for eBay or Yahoo Auctions, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any businesses that make CCs or MOs for cheap?

If you go to the Post Office or local convenience store, they typically selll MOs for less than $1, while banks usually charge $3 for MO and $5 for CC.

I used to get money orders all the time and always used one of the grocery stores, they charge anywhere from 35 cents to 90 cents for a money order.

Our post office its 90 cents.
Never get them at a bank, they charge WAY too much, unless of course your cashiers check is for a HUGE amount.

My bank lets me get all the cashier checks I want for FREE...or maybe they're money orders...one of them, anyway

USBank is the name...so far, one of the better one's I've ever dealt with (and man, have I had some odd problems with banks!)

USBank gives cashiers checks away for free with account? Well must not apply to all banks cause i bank with US Bank and they DO NOT give free money orders. Here they are 6 bucks for casheirs and 3 bucks for money orders. I never use the banks.

Yeah, about $1 ($0.90 I guess) for a money order at the post office.

Beware of those grocery store money orders. Money orders are only as good as the company issuing them. I remember one going bankrupt and leaving all kinds of people stuck.

Accept only U.S. Postal Money orders. They are as good as gold. Accept Cashier's Checks only after verifying that they are not stolen instruments.
