Can your computers make you sick?

I'm wondering about this because it seems like the more time I spend in the computer room, the more lethargic and all around icky I feel.
With the constant droaning of 5 AMD boxes and 2 monitors and the heat (80 is about as cool as it gets in here). I don't really get headaches but many times end up feeling shakey and queasy or weak..
Anyone have any theories? Or similar observations?

Or is it just Old Age catching up with me?

I don't have any problems being around a lot of comptuers, although I don't sit through that sort of heat.
Now I am not saying it's what you just said because I don't want to get myself in trouble.

80? 80 degrees Farenheit??? Whoa!

Not only are your computers gonna die young, it ain't doin' you no good either!

My suggestion: block off the other A/C vents so that all the cold air blows in the computer room. Get the temp down to 70F. Take an ice bucket when you go in there, with some cold drinks.

And put on one of those frosty XPC Central wallpapers to make the monitors look cooler too.

Temperature is important, but perception is a good part of it.

Girl, who do you think you are, Superman?

Plus, aren't you the woman who takes her coffee in a 18-oz. dose? Add the two together and you're going to feel the symptoms you're describing. I know I do.

Like water. Especially WATER.

I know, I didn't like the idea, myself (fish poop in that stuff) but when I'm working in the garage/shop, I know the minute I start feeling listless, or especially if I feel quesy, that I'm Dehydrated.

Water is the only thing that will fix it.... not orange juice, not soda (especially not caffiene-laden colas, which is what I like! ).

I really think dehydration, in concert with that heat, is the enemy here. Hope't helps.

Actually it's 84 in here now..
Ok so I closed the one in the kitchen (I mean how much heat do you make when you micro something from the freezer!)
The one in the Dining room (it's not like I eat in there)
One of the ones in the living room.
One of the ones in my bedroom.
The one in the main bath.

Wow I never realized how many there were. Bet my sons room benefits from this too. I can acturally feel cool air now!

Good advice, "Dads".

Take care of yourself Surreal, or Fingers will never forgive us!

BTW, just a thought, but there are no nasty "smells" in your den, are there Surreal?? I mean, hot plastic components can sometimes give off acrylic vapours - if you can smell slightly acrid smells in there then you may need to better ventilate the room.

Acrylic vapours can cause lethargy and can be quite nasty over a long period. A sort of a potential geek poisoning if you like.

Cheers
Mick
