Wow great idea alondra I've never thought of putting mud on like that and sanding

Another point on the texture is, I've done texturing with drywall mud. You can get some really nice looks with it.

you can use a small wisk broom too. Keeping the bottom of it in one place, and making a fanning motion about 45 degrees, or 90, whatever you prefer, looks nice also.
I never could get the walls smooth enough for paint, always looked bad. Of course I don't like sheetrock.

One thing about it, your not stuck with any decision, you can always sand it off, and do it over

After preparing the surface, give it a coat of "Kiltz" primer, then paint whatever color you like!
