in my paper today, Mr Knickerbocker, leases a quarter acre in El Dorodo National Forest with a cabin. for almost two decades, for all of that time has flown a Flag. on a pole.
the forest service sent him a letter demanding the removal of the pole told him he could hang it on the cabin. their reason
" if you are puting holes in the ground where Native Americans
once resided that needs an archaeological review" a Forest Service spokesman said.
Hmmm Native Americans, resided in just about all of the US at one time..

There is also an ongoing battle in Florida (probably elsewhere also) where homeowner associations have told the homeowners that they cannot fly their flags. I believe Jeb Bush has supported legislation overruling these homeowner association restrictions, but the battle apparently continues because I heard a radio show Friday were a caller was still fighting eviction because they refuse to take down the 15" pole in their front yard that holds a 3' x 5" American Flag.
