Maybe we should react differently

In light of our experience today with an obvious troublemaker, maybe all of us shouldn't react (over react?) to such bait. Just encourages them and gives them a big laugh.

In fact, I feel we fall to his expectations and "do the expected". Perhaps, next time, such posts can be ignored.

Believe me, nothing beats apathy at dissuading such characters. They thrive on attention and stirring up things and then leave, as unobtrusively as they entered, mindless of the fact that many of us live here.

Any different views?

Nope, I agree. I don't think anything was done maiciously by the other users who posted, but ignoring posts does fight one of the biggest spam helpers...the thread bump.
