As Knothead said to cut holes for speakers you really need a router.
Not necessarily. While a router will make it perfect, the POS old jigsaw I used made a nice rough circle. Sure, it wasn't perfect....but mount a speaker/subwoofer and see if you can tell the difference

BTW, if I didn't say it already, the drill I used was not a cordless. Personally, like the doog said, unless you really need a cordless model, I'd get corded. Get a cheapo cordless and a nicer corded, IMO.

Porter Cable makes good tools, I have a router, and Saw, both corded, and about 5 years old. Work flawlessly, except when you cut the cord on the saw with the saw, while using it

Ohhh I disagree or at least for a drill... Now a cordless sawsall is different.. But not having a cord to deal with is great and the Ryobi 12volt that I have keeps a charge really well.. I love that drill. So much so that when someone broke into an apartment I was fixing up and stole my first one, I went out and bought another one the exact same model.. For me that says a lot as far as the drill goes.. It means there wasn't any feature on it that I was dissatisfied with the first time around..

"peel back a bit of forehead skin" ala knothead

had to read that post 3 times till i realized that the second half of the word "forehead"(head) and "skin" were NOT transposed.

whew. brings on a whole new meaning to the sentence
