Have to say, the dune has been the best trilogy I've read. Even better than the Weis-Hickman chronicles...
Definetely worth reading.

"Muad'dib" means "literally" "the adapted kangaroo-mouse of Arrakis" . (I put "literally" in quotes because a lot of the language in Dune is a sort of pastiche of Arabic, and I don't know whether this is a real word or a confected one.) It's the Fremen name for Paul Atreides, the protagonist of the first book.
