MLB All-Star game/ National Anthem butchery

Did anyone hear that butchery of the National Anthem by Anestasia (?) at the All-Star game? What a crock! I had to leave the room. I was horrified. She forgot the words TWICE and tried to jazz it up (I hate it when they do that...it is beautiful as it is...don't ruin it)

I think this one was worse than Roseanne Arnold's rendition in NYC!

Argh!

I wish I had a link about it. CNN and ESPN have said nothing so far about it.

Who sang it? Or rather, who tried to sing it?

There should be legal recourse. Some kinds of singing are disrespectful, but that one should have been unlawful.

Kind of surprised no threads have been started on this yet...but what about how the game ended?!?! What a bunch of crap!

Let them play!

They're worried that a pitcher might hurt their arm....after pitching only 2 innings!??!!? Give me a break. They're professional athletes...I mean come on.

Not only that...that didn't announce an MVP either. Uggghhh...not too happy with baseball right now.

Yeah...that was a bust too.

Baseball doesn't have tie games! Never!

I think there was something "else" going on behind the scenes.

This woman sang it: http://www.anastacia.com/ (there is sound to this site)

I agree. I am ticked at MLB right now for stopping the game. They should have allowed some pitchers toreenter the game. Smoltz pitched to one batter?!?!

I can see where they were coming from. Even if they are professional athletes, everytime they throw the ball there is a chance that something could go wrong.
Although the pitchers in that started could have warmed back up and pitched again. (Even if that would have been unethical, but a baseball game ending in a tie is VERY unethical.)

MLB is goig to screw up whatever it can.

Gotta save our players for a post season that will never happen. The strike is going to take care of that.

Ya I agrree that there is the possibility of injury...but we take that chance just getting up in the morning. Hell I could be injured typing out this reply...lol.

Was talking with my boss earlier and he was telling me about one of the pitchers (I think from the Yankees?) pitched on 4 days rest...did 30 pitches or so and that was it for him. And he'll get another 4 days rest before he pitches again. Geeez!!

Makes you wonder what the "Splendid Splinter" thinks about all this...you can bet he's shaking his head.
