Work My new 'butter knife'....

I made an executive decision a few weeks ago and decided that I only used one function (typically) on my old (2-3 years) Wenger Mountaineer knife - the blade. And more increasingly, I've had to do tough jobs that the Wenger had trouble with, evident by the wavy tip of the blade from bending it a few times.

I went out in search of an uber knife, one that would be ultra tough, stylish, sexy and be NEVER break or bend. I could have gotten a regular old Buck folder @ wal-mart but that would have left out "stylish" and "sexy"....I am no average joe. *snickers*

Finally, I settled on the SOG Tomcat II with cocobolo handle for $120 shipped. Just got it today...

This knife screams: "I'm a sexy beast!" (Faht Bahstahd)
You can view both knives from different angles here (I'm sure you can tell which is which):

The Tomcat II weighs 8oz (I believe the Wenger is 4-5oz, still large for a swiss army style knife) and the modified bowie style blade has a base thickness of 0.195". When it locks in place with a loud SNAP you KNOW it's not going to move

That's a cool knife. Nice size. And definitely sexy...I guess.

But even though it's a little bulky, I'll stick with my multi-function utility gizmo:

lol redwolf, that's the ONLY thing I remember about that movie...that and when he throws it at guy and knocks him out.

Shahani....didn't know you were into them?
I'm kind of a 'junior' knife collector...only have a few. I don't really like to be too redundant, ie have a 10-12 different folders or something like that....a couple is good though

I've been into general sharp objects since I was a kid....I guess it comes from using a machete in 2nd-3rd grade and having a jack knife at that time too......you're talking to a kid who asked (and got) an ax for Christmas in 6th grade.......ax's, hachets, machetes, "small" knives (like the one I have), large fixed blades....love 'em all

wart -
You would like my dad's old knife. It's a 1950 - 1960's stiletto style switchblade with a 6" blade. Just push a button and SNAP! Your ready for action!
