The dumbest reason -- I moved into a dorm room at college, and the previous denizen had left behind three good pipes (I knew they were good, because my father was a serious pipe smoker) and it seemed a shame to waste them.

Shahani:
That was the Ronson VueTane lighter. They used to be transparent, and came with little dice or trout flies inside.
I was a Zippo man myself, but later switched to a Collibri. My grandpas both used a Ronson, and I've owned at least one.
Servicemen all carried a Zippo. They didn't explode & blow your leg off if they caught some hot flack, and the four layers of stainless steel would probably stop a bullet.

Oh, hey...TKOP: The Feds will still bust you for it, as I understand.
I don't smoke doobies myself, though I know people who do. I certainly don't support putting people in prison for it.
But be careful, OK? There's lots of folks who would string you up for such a minor thing.

Because at my teens I thought, like everyone else, that it's cool.
Though, I really smoked only for about a year really, before that it was occasional.
Now I've used swedish tobacco (what do you guys call snus?) for few years, and the american chewing tobacco for a while.
Today seems to be the last day, my wife made me promise to quit them both since she's worried I'll get mouth cancer.
Think I'll be pretty pissed this weekend, chewing chewing-gum all the time

I know several guys who chew tabacco.....that's even worse than cigs. I've seen those vids of people who chew after awhile....."hairy" tongue.....I guarantee that's the nastiest thing you'll have seen in your life if you see a pic of a "hairy" tongue (a result of chewing).
Congrats muno

I can add a little...chewed in high school during baseball only. Must have looked awfully funny seeing a high schooler standing out in center field with a mouth full of redman (thought bandits were for wusses). As soon as baseball ended, I stopped.
This thread and the other thread have been quite eye opening. I am not radical about it, but I am sometimes put off by smokers. Now that I see how desperately people want to quit, I'll try and be more sympathetic.
Side Note:
TKOP - I thought state law could not override federal law. States can legalize anything they want, but the Feds will still bust ya.

Ok, a picture of hairy tongue looked a bit... something
That has to tickle
The document I found from google says that the reason for that condition is unknown, but seems to be related to tobacco.
A document by health administratives said it's stricktly associated with spitting tobacco (this is what I referred as american chewing tobacco).
Spat mine out immediately
