The way I look at it--the Flip Side to putting "under God" in the Pledge is that it becomes *voluntary* for that reason.
[In fact, it should be voluntary and was I recall briefly even without that reason].
The Flip Side of making it *voluntary* --is that Congress can stick the words "under God" in the Pledge.
To each, his or her own !
