What would you do?

OK I am in need of a better van. I have an 86 Dodge Caravan LE. Body is decent, interior needs seats which I have. It has 350,000 miles, and is lacking power, smoking, and in need of a rebuild. Also needs struts and shocks, not really a big deal IMO.I just did brakes, starter, tires, and battery.
So now my question. Would you
A.Buy a newer model, that is in good condition, make payments, and go in debt a couple grand?

Or B
Fix the one I have now ,concidering I can do all the work as I am a mechanic by trade, and have all the tools, garage, and ect. Still gonna cost 7-8 hundred dollars. But will have new engine, struts shocks. Plus I will know that the work is good.

So if you were in this position, would you buy, or repair?
