I just ran a red light
Darn, I've been swearing at myself ever since. This morning I was dropping off my sister at work. I was going back and I was going east and the sun was right on the horizon. I didn't see that there were lights there right until it was too late to stop. Luckily there was no one at the intersection, only cars waiting wo go. I think I ran it wan it was about to change to green for me because right after I ran it, the people who waited on my street started moving. No, i didn't get any ticket, luckily. Oh God, I was so nervous when I realised what I did. BTW do any of you know what a penalty for running a RL is?

I did that once. I was in another city, driving towards the sun and ran the red. Of course, there was a police officer I calmly explained that I'm from a different city, I didn't know the streets that well and I was driving into the sun. He gave me the "that's no excuse, stop lights look the same everywhere and they are bright enough to see even if you are driving into the sun!!" So I'm thinking ticket for sure. He hands me the ticket and walks away. Ticket said "next time wear sunglasses, have a good evening" |

hehe, lucky, hopefully there weren't any red light cameras on the intersection. I might have to go back and check

Relax man, Im sure it has happened to most people at one time or another. Be happy you didnt hurt someone or get a ticket, and be more cautious, that's all.
Driving to an intersection with the sun behind it sux and is dangerous, because 1. you need to see the traffic light ( which is barely visible) and 2. you get temporarily blinded if you look right at the sun.
They should put sheilds behind these traffic lights or something.
My wife is in Peru right now, and just last night she was telling me 95% of the drivers do not obey any traffic laws/speed limits........and usually 20$ will take care of it if a cop does pull you over. She was watching guys drive straight through intersections ( red lights) without a care............thats crazy.
She said it wouldnt be wise for me to go there, cause have a fit if I see people driving like idiots and /or not following traffic laws.

luckily there aren't any traffic cams in the city I ran through. Right when I was aware of the red light, I was like "CRA*", and I'm praying that no one was on there. Luckily there was no one on the intersection at that time and I thank God for it. Because i just saw a very bad footage of what happens when two cars find themselves in the same place at the same time, and I tell you, it wasn't pretty

In a small city near me, they have signs hanging up warning you about the penalty.......$170 and 2 points on your license.
