New holden hits the US!

With all the car talk i thought i would mention this!

The Monaro will be reliesed in the US as a chevie i think. Its a two door with the gen 3, 5.7 litre v8 that goes like a shower of fridges and if you have every dropped a fridge out of a plane thats fast.

You have some cool cars there!
When we were ther in January, I saw a lot of the "utes" and really liked the styling, I think they would go over pretty well over here.
The ones I liked were the Ford Falcon SX (I think? )
and the Holden ute.
They were cool in that they were smaller than a regular truck here, but still had a cargo bed to haul stuff about in.
The holden ute that is in Oz had a counterpart here in the states for a while, called the El Camino, but it was discontinued quite a few years back.
If I can I will try to see if I can dig up a link to the ute pages.
I really liked ' em.

Hey Burning,
If it goes the way of the Capri it will be cheaper here and better made. Do you remeber the debarcle over the Capri being exported to the US and how it was far more superior to the AUS model.

How can you guys pay for the gas that it will guzzle, when I was there in Feb, gas was almost $1.00aus per liter ($3.00+us per gallon)

I guess the Commodore is still popular.

Paul (former West Aussie lad)

I had a Capri with a speedometer that went to 165. But it did not. Numbers are cheap

Yeah petrol is still basically the same price, 85 c/L but we aussies just dont care.

my brothers former car used 1 litre of fuel per 5km but it would do about 230-245km/h.
