Einstein said that something like that started him thinking along the lines that
led him to the Theory of Relativity.
When he was about sixteen, he started wondering whether, if he was inside a sealed room that was moving at the speed of light, would he be able to see himself in a mirror?
The Michelson-Morley experiment

proved that the answer was not only "yes", but that if you were inside such a room, there would be
no effects from your point of view that would let you know that you were moving at all.
Explaining this weird result was what led to the Special Theory of Relativity.
