I sense that many of the posters here have been smoking something..On the issue of extra fuel consumtion, you do no loose half your gas milage by carying another passenger in you car, just like I wont get twice the milage if I loose all my excess weight. So this idea of charging folks twice as much for an airline ticket is absurd. I myself can sit in a seat just fine, and am happy to pay the extra 15$ for an exit row for the extra leg room. depending on the airline I don't even need an seat belt extetion. You can put up with sitting next to an overweigh person for a few hours. I wont kill you
