Sprinkler help

Ok, attached is a picture of how my sprinklers spray, and how they don't. i have a lawn that is watered by the half circle sprinklers, but the problem is that the water never goes close to the sprinkler for some reason. The sprinkler sprays the water far away from it, but the grass close to the sprinkler is never watered. Any ideas? I tried different brands, such as Rain Bird, etc. Need help desperately, grass is beginning to dry around the sprinklers.

They're too far apart. The spray patterns should overlap to get full coverage.

the max they can be apart is 10' is what the box says, I have them about 7' apart. when I walk around the neighborhood, the other people's sprinklers work nicely, there is enver a dry area right next to the sprinkler. and my old metal sprinklers worked nicely too, but I had to replace them with the plastic kind.

How high do they pop up? The higher they pop up, the closer they have to be.

Do the sprinklers have replacable jets, or are they just basically a slit into the head that cannot be changed?

I usually have the opposite problem. Too much water by sprinkler head. I use rainbird. Is there a screw on top to adjust the spray maybe tighten it down a little where it won't spray so far and it should spray closer to the head. And with all the splashing that goes on against the adjustment screw it should be watered pretty good. Maybe need shorter distance sprinkler head if there is no adjustment . Some are made to spray like 30 foot circle and overlapp like caddman said.

Well, upon further thought, home sprinkler systems probably don't have the heads with replacable jets. My father was a Turf Manager for a golf course for 23 years. I spent alot of time out on the course with him getting the sprinklers set up right.

Mine do. They're Toro's. a bit more expensive, but you can tweak them better.

Cool. Yeah they are more expensive, but they are worth it.

to get them to shoot right in front of themselves you should use a BMFH1000 attachment. The LMFH1000 did little to help the problem at my house.
