I think that's a pretty tall order in SanFran....just start driving north, and you might find one.

if you are going to San Fransisco, dress as sloppily as you want, and don't brush your hair/teeth for a week even, if you want, because just about everybody is pretty crazy down there and nobody will care. J/K

If you really don't care too much about motel quality, try Motel 6. Cheap, in both ways.

I guess that would depend on your definition of expensive.

But I have not been out west since 1992. I can't suggest anything but the name hotel chains.

As I recall the cost of a room can easily exceed $120 excluding tax and fees at the marriot, best western, holiday inn. You are probably looking at a motel. Not bad though it is a roof and usually clean. Most have a pool and such. But if you think the mint on your pillow and room service is worth 40 to 80 bucks more you can go to the name brand hotels.
