Oh my goodness, she actually listens to me!
And I wish she had'nt this time.
We had been having some drain/toilet trouble's . Leaking seal at the base, slow drain and such. So I pulled up the toilet to replace the seal.
I took one look and said UH,OH. The drain hole which should have been 4 inch only had about an inch and a half of clearance due to root's from a vine of some sort that had worked there way into and under the seal.
Mind you this is at 11:30pm(i was bored and decided to get on with it). So I grabbed the root's and pulled out 2 and a half feet of them. everything looked good from there. I put it all back together and thought thing's were back to normal.
everything went fine until the wife started doing laundry, dishes, showers and such. the whole mess backed up worse than before so I yanked the toilet again ran my plumbing snake as far as i could got some more root's, but not to the end of the problem.(my snake is only about 15 foot long)
So off to the rental store for a bigger electric snake(more power arr, arr, arr) I figured 75 feet would get me through the root's and it did hit one small wad, but that still did'nt get the job done. worked it even further down the line (about 40 feet) it hit something. I reeled the line back in to find an ugly wad of something on the end which turned out to be a green (st patrick's day with the shamrock) sock.
what does this have to do with the title of the thread you ask ?
Well apperantly one of those times I told her to go stuff a sock in it, she did. lol
time to buy a new drain cover for the laundry room(I don't know what happened to the old one.)

well at least the one person that found the humor in this was a woman.
I was just kidding, not implying that she did it on purpose, or that it was actually her fault. It could be my fault.(like i would admit that.)
It was just one of those week's.

I always suspected that washing machines were alive and feed mainly on socks!!! Now there's proof!

But how do they utilize the material if they don't digest it.
I Know for a fact that washing machines are not alive. There are actually sock fairies that like to camp. They take the socks and use them to make sleeping bags. Geeze some people will believe anything. Washing machines eat socks how gullible. The fact is that the fairy ran into one of the roots and bumped their head on it. In the hurry to escape a flushing toilet they decided to abandon the sock.
Next time use logic in your arguments.

On the other hand, as Avram Davidson showed, paper clips are the larval, and coathangers the pupal, stage of bicycles (remember, they come in two sexes). That's why you can never find a paper clip when you need one, but your closets keep filling up with coathangers.
