Kids Where can I borrow a car?

I have a friend who needs to get to New Jersey. He thought maybe someone would need a car driven across country and he could do it for him or her. Where could we go to find that kind of information? I checked the classifieds, but no luck. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'd try the rental car companies. I know they have people who rent them in one location and drop them off in another (and they charge them big $$ for this). They have to get them back to the place they belong somehow - maybe your friend???

Most rental car companies dont have a need for this service anymore. The cars belong to the company as a whole and dont have a specific location that they belong in. Their computerized inventory system keeps things in control. The only reson they have for moving them is if they get too many built up in a particular area.

I saw a movie that had someone delivering a car. Moving day with Richard Pryor. Need I say More.

You know I thought about doing this a couple of years ago, one of my friends told me about it. I think I know where this company is that I talked to about doing that, but don't remember the name. I'll try to find the name for you. I'm guessing they were national.

Here's a list of company's that transport cars, some haul with the big mutli-car transporting trucks but some are the drive away service. Take a look.
