Deep Linking laws and implications

Just saw this article regarding the ongoing lawsuit to ban deep linking on the internet.

Deep linking is when one site posts a link that leads directly to content on another site, rather than to the sites main page.

hmm, haven't had a cahnce to read all of it yet, i def will though. even though it technically would not become a law, it would still affect the internet in the US. any chance for the govt to limit technology seems to be the govt focus nowadays.
