That didn't help much probably. Under your User CP, go to edit options. There's a change avatar option near the bottom.

any 64 X 64 or smaller JPG can be used you can also use Gif and such. I believe that the restriction is 10 k in size.

You can edit them with the tool right on line and save them to your hard drive.
