Misc LCD Projectors?

Anyone have any experiences with LCD Projectors? We rent one for time to time for $200.00 plus dollars a day.

We are looking to buy one. I have seen them as low as $1500.00 and the price goes way up from there. Any suggestions on a good one for a right price?

Our company got a Toshiba B2 Ultra projector a couple of months ago for $2764. I use it quite a bit for training classes, and it's great. It's very bright, so you don't have to turn off the lights, and it has a bunch of adjustments like keystone, brightness, etc. It comes with a remote control, laser pointer, remote mouse control, and several types of cables for TV, PC, etc. It's also small enough to fit in my (fairly large) laptop bag along with my laptop so I don't have to carry a separate bag when I travel with it.

We have a couple of high end EIKI, and a few Epsons. The bulbs are $500 each, just to keep a spare. We actually have the "portable" models mounted to the ceiling and use the remote to focus, adjust and turn off. You probably want to figure out how bright you need your image for the size of room and conditions. The higher lumens output, the more cost. You probably want to get something to handle the higher resolutions, beyond XGA gets expensive. That way a laptop can look great when projected without interpolating the image. Of course, more expensive models can handle TV composite, s-vhs in.

Audio-video places would be glad to quote you or figure out what you need for your situation.

We like to test ours out with an image of the batman logo and point it out the window...
