Black Hawk Down on DVD is out
I had forgotten 'bout it (amazingly enough) because of a uber l33t class trip just before it came out....luckly, Toadman gave me the heads up 
As a diehard fan (saw it in theaters twice), I obviously bought the DVD today, day after it came out. Haven't watched it yet.....probably will watch it with the fam on the downstairs tv (with my new l33t xbox and DVD kit) and then again on my keekahs stereo in my room on either my pc or tv next to my computer (via xbox)....only prob with tv in my room is that it's in the corner, so the sound is off center it seems.
All must go out and buy today!

Thanks for the reminder. Hopefully they'll have it available here soon. I just got done reading the book last week....and what a book it is! Comparing notes with friends who have seen the movie, it seems like the movie switches some of the details around.
BTW, the same guy who wrote Blackhawk Down (Mark Bowden) also just published an account of the invasion of Normandy....I definitely want to check that out, too.

I started reading Blackhawk down when it was originally publishied in the Philadelphia Inquirer - the only description I can give is 'gripping'

Yeah, I read the book 2 years ago.......never read it again because it was such an incredible, heart stopping story. The movie does switch a few things around (no book-to-movie is 100% accurate) but I thought it was mostly right on....unlike other book-to-movies where they might switch teh entire ending (Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger come to mind...grrr).

I finally got to see this last night. It was so good that I had to watch it again this morning. I just love Ridley Scott movies.
Ummm...off to the movies to see The Bourne Identity with Pupus.

Cadd - I saw it twice in the theaters in less than a week
Watched it tonight.....completely awesome, still fires me up.
