I respect your opinion MMock, and I think that getting rid of the handguns, and assault rifles is a good start in gun control. But no matter what laws are passed, and what measures are taken, they will still be there. People that use these kinds of weapons don't walk into the gunshop, fill out the forms, and wait for approval. They get them on the street, unmarked bills, five minutes, and someone is dead. Personaly,I don't see an answer to gun control, already to many availible.
Drugs is another one of those things. Too easy to get. A ten year old can get it at school. For crying out loud, how are we supposed to protect ourselves, and our kids?No I don't think it's a lost cause, and I think that it's worth fighting for,but I also think that I have the right to keep and bear arms, just like the next guy(leagally of course), and the government has no right to take them away from a law abiding citizen. I think that a man has the right to protect his house, family, and posessions. And I believe that if he was raised by a mom and dad that had good morals, and taught him right from wrong, and taught him the value of human life, then there wouldn't be so much violence in the world.
Yes I'm tired of worrying about my kids at school, playgrounds, and rec centers. I think that parents are not as effective as they need to be.And this is due to 14 year old girls having babies with 14 year old boys, and thier drunken parents not caring, or willng to say, this isn't right.Parent saying to thier 12-14 year old kids, if your going to have sex, protection. What a crock, what happened to parents like mine? DON'T DO IT!!!!
Well I better shut up, but I think that guns, drugs, and violence, boil down to a lack of effective parenting, and education is the best prevention.
If you will listen to Charlie Daniels, Simple Man, I think he pretty well sums it up.
Sorry for the long post, got carried away
