Helping make a change!

By know you are all probably fed up with my complaining about how everything is going.... Now I could be completely wrong on everything I believe in and you all can think that I honestly won't care! But I am looking for all the ways I can possibly change things that are important to me! I am interested in changing stuff like drug and weapon control to start out! Like the famous saying is "Guns don't kill people, people do" Now I could be wrong on this but GUNS have alot to do with it eh! I am trying to find things that are directly related to Local, State, And Federal government that I can discuss with people and get groups of activists together and organize meetings and other things to start petitions and such.... Now I have been looking almost everywhere... I've found alot of forums (and have registered and posted the same question) But I am looking for any feedback you all might have on where to start!

Thx in advance anything is appreciated!

Hello MMock, i see where your coming from and as for the guns. All they do is offer people an easier option. Its alot easier to shot someone than to stab them.

I respect your opinion MMock, and I think that getting rid of the handguns, and assault rifles is a good start in gun control. But no matter what laws are passed, and what measures are taken, they will still be there. People that use these kinds of weapons don't walk into the gunshop, fill out the forms, and wait for approval. They get them on the street, unmarked bills, five minutes, and someone is dead. Personaly,I don't see an answer to gun control, already to many availible.
Drugs is another one of those things. Too easy to get. A ten year old can get it at school. For crying out loud, how are we supposed to protect ourselves, and our kids?No I don't think it's a lost cause, and I think that it's worth fighting for,but I also think that I have the right to keep and bear arms, just like the next guy(leagally of course), and the government has no right to take them away from a law abiding citizen. I think that a man has the right to protect his house, family, and posessions. And I believe that if he was raised by a mom and dad that had good morals, and taught him right from wrong, and taught him the value of human life, then there wouldn't be so much violence in the world.
Yes I'm tired of worrying about my kids at school, playgrounds, and rec centers. I think that parents are not as effective as they need to be.And this is due to 14 year old girls having babies with 14 year old boys, and thier drunken parents not caring, or willng to say, this isn't right.Parent saying to thier 12-14 year old kids, if your going to have sex, protection. What a crock, what happened to parents like mine? DON'T DO IT!!!!
Well I better shut up, but I think that guns, drugs, and violence, boil down to a lack of effective parenting, and education is the best prevention.
If you will listen to Charlie Daniels, Simple Man, I think he pretty well sums it up.
Sorry for the long post, got carried away

Taking away guns from law biding citizens, which is all gun control does, would do nothing more than piss off the huge number of gun owners in the US. Me being one of them. You take away guns from us and only the criminals and cops will have them. I really don't see how that would change anything. Also, what the heck is with the term 'assault rifle?' Its really stupid. I have not heard a definition of it that makes any sense. In NJ, they are categorized as "military style." I mean, just because something looks like its from the military doesn’t make it any more dangerous.

Exactly...a semi-auto is a semi-auto...
The AR-15 (civilian, semi-auto varient of the M-16) is basically the same as Ruger's Mini-14....both .223, semi-auto and are similar in performance.

It's a play on words to make them sound more dangerous ASSAULT RIFLE what's the first thing in most people's minds=war weapon. Or automatic weapon when it's a semi-automatic, or when they make a speech to ban them and say no one needs gun that can fire 600- 900 rounds per minute but with a 30 round clip how many times would you have to reload in one minutes time not to mention you would have to have wheelbarrow to carry all the ammo around with you. We already have so many gun laws that the criminal's could care less about. They want more laws for us law-abiding citizens have to put up with and pay more fees. Keep all your guns. You never know when the chicom's will invade.lol

paranoia is normal
