Here is the lot

Pink = house
Blue = build line
Green = lot
1px = 1ft

Opition 1

Dang, lots of swimming pools in that area! Ya, I'm with Surreal, put it wherever it's the farthest away from all the other houses. Looks like the middle of lot in this case. Also gotta think about if you want any large lawn ornements, pool, garage, etc...

There are generally "set back" laws or regulations that will limit your choices...i.e. the house must be set back a certain number of feet from all boundaries...

There is more to it than just picking a spot.
You need to get a plat of your lot to find out where any easements are that need to be avoided, and find out what the local set-back ordinances are. You also need a definate footprint of the house and an exact lot description. Also find out if there are any covenants that need to be followed. Not to mention where utilities and water/sewer services are located.

These things need to planned out to the inch. An encraochment can be very costly in fines, variances, and possibly even some reconstruction. I do this for a living. It's almost never as easy as just one or the other once you factor in all of the information. Most of what you need can be gotten from the county, with the exception of the house plans.

You better get those people off of your property. You know squatters rights kick in after 20 years.

I like the privacy of putting trees all around.
