HELPPPPPPP ! Future Mother-in-Law Visiting

for two weeks. Staying with BossCaaT and I would get my tail cut off in my sleep if I said "no".

So we are planning a trip to Maine for her.

Get her out of NYC.

Been to Maine four times --but have memory loss--due to panic.

What are some good places to visit in Maine?

Maybe get lost in.....HELP

If ya want offbeat and a little cheesey, you could take her to the "Desert of Maine." It is off exit 19 or 20 (cant remember) on I-95. Its a bit different and so are the people.

When I was in my wee-early 20's, some friends and I took a RoadTrip through the NewEngland states and for whatever reason or substance (hehe)- this place sticks out most in my mind.

EDIT: Arent most Tourist attractions/traps cheese?

If that doesnt do it- I also seem to remember that off to the east (south east) is a REALLY BIG BIG body of water.

Just some thoughts.

EDIT2: Seriously, What area ya going? Tourist Southeast Part on Coast (Perils of 95)- anywhere starting at YorkHarbor/York up through Portland is active and offers Much! To get out of the way and off the Beat head up toward the Border around the Allagash Wilderness area- Lots of cool small towns and people. I have never been to the Western parts of Maine.

Hmm Maine... not much up there...
Go camping?

Even better... send THEM camping, and hold down the fort LOL
Although I think after that comment, you'd be sent packing so that one may not be so advisable

On the way up, aren't there a set of locks as the ships come in from the pacific into the st. lawrence seaway?
That'd be kinda cool, but not sure if they're in ME or another state.

run and hide --- or get a script for valium --- or do what I do - I repeat Fred Flinstones classic line over and over -

"I love my dear sweat mother-in-law" with clenched teeth - and then "this too shall pass"

all the best,

Ken

I like Maine too, Geekgrl

But it's either it or me.

If da BoSS didn't have to work-

I'd go to FL.
