Our new puppy.

Seeing Surreal's new pup made me want to put a couple of pics of our new family member.
I don't have a website to put them on, but will put a couple here, and some in the gallery later.

Her name is Meadow, she is an akita, about 4 1/2 months old, and ALREADY weighs 60 pounds.
We took her to the vet for her last puppy shots and when they put her on the scale, I about freaked. I din't think she was that big..
The first one here is a normal pose:

here is one where she is acting the fool..
she has a very sweet disposition, and is already a clown.
Her registered name is OPR Koubashii Angelfire.
I searched a bunch of english terms in Japanese, and found koubashii meant sweet, befitting her disposition.

Ohhh she's a brindle, too.. Nice *cough*puppy*cough* dog... lol she's looks the size of a grown dog already.. yikes

She's beautfiul, desmo.. many happy years may she share with you and your family.

Surreal, the breeder said she would probably top out between 110 and 130 pounds.
She will be larger than most female akitas, generally they can run from about 70 pounds up to 130. Her dad was about 140 pounds, and mom was about 110.
Umm, one nice thing concerning.."cleanup"... she tends to go potty along the back fence, in a line, about 3 feet out from it.
No hunting little "land mines" (little for now, ) all over the yard. That is a breed trait that is good, going potty in one area, usually farthest away from what they see as living quarters.

that's a good trait!
My neighbor had a Husky, he would be in the front yard with her, scratch on the door to go in the house so he could go out the back doggie door in the back to the back yard to do his business.

A buddy of mine had an Akita-Lab mix. He was absolutley huge! He had to be 140+! Very cool dog.
