Moral Dilemma

I pose this to you gracious people, because I value your opinions greatly...

My wife tells me I am immoral for this, but I think Finders keepers/losers weepers.

I go to drop off videos at the local DVD video rental store. I drop my videos into the outside drop box. I find a DVD sitting on the ledge. It happens to be Bandits, and I have not seen it, so I keep it. Mine, mine, mine.

Nary a Month later I am dropping off more movies, same scenario. This time it is Mothman Prophecies. I keep it. Mine, mine, mine...

So what do you think?

I am going to try to do a Poll here too.

so someone didn't push the movie all the way in? and you decided instead of being helpful and pushing it in, you take it?

Personally I am with you here, although the last time this happened I pushed it back in. It is darwin at his best, if you can't push it in then you lose. It isnt as if it is a puzzle, you push it in.

wow sort of lose respect for someone if they do that

i mean people are in a rush and sometimes the movies don't get pushed down all the way.

just my 2 cents tho

In a rush? Exactly how rushed does one have to be not to get a movie down a slick metal ramp? Sounds to me like it is a stop and a lazy toss in.

So you wouldn't mind if it happened to you, and you were being charged unknowly for a movie that was taken from a box cause someone couldn't help you out and push the movie all the way in??

another senerio what if the person put the movie on there, got distracted while putting other movies in the box and missed that one.

basically the store owns it. are movies that expensive these days?

like i said this is my 2 cents

If i couldnt push it down the ramp? Absolutely. Every time i drop a movie in the drop box, I open the slot, slide it in, and give it a nice firm push, then wiggle my fingers around to make sure it got it. Why? Because I dont want to get charged for the movie. I take precautions and the time to do things correctly, so I don't end up paying the price.
Is it the right thing to do? No, but does anyone that cant slide it down get any sympathy from me? No again.
