Africa-Farms
Just read that some African Govts. are complaining about the US farm subsidy, (I dont think much of it myself but) their complaint is that it hurts their farmers ability to export to the US. daily we see pictures of people there on the verg of starving,, What am I missing in this picture????

The rich getting richer?
IMO, it's a big screw up over there . Most of those countries always seem to be poor, AIDS laden and run by guys with machetes. Dunno what to do, if anything.

I dunno - one year my uncle got paid more to dump his milk, than to sell it - (he had a state contract - providing to the dept. of corrections)
The milk truck still came daily - and he filled it - but it got dumped.
What a waste.
I agree on the subject of Africa - 100%.

I'm not a farmer.
But I live in the middle of the San Jouaquin Valley, which is just about the worlds biggest and most productive farming area. Wages are not high here (not compared with the rest of California, where they are pretty high in general) But we have the worlds best and cheapest food.
We export billions worth of food all over the world, and that's not going to change. Subsidies or no subsidies, from what I see the Africans wouldn't stand a chance anyway.

Yeah...ding-dang tree huggers!
Do you remember when they stopped the construction of a So Cal freeway (to the tune of $25,000,000 lost) because it was going through the habitat of a (supposedly) endangered fly! A stinkin' FLY!

Who do you thinkowns all that land. Food prices coould triple--and the starving farmers would starve more cause the looting Gov'ts would impound the additional monies. This is called Central Planning and means that instaed of Capital formation, you have capital flight to safe haven countries like Switzerland and France.
By the ruling families.
Err..blame "neo-colonialism"
