Didn't see it today but remember it. Sorta seems like Stephen King borrowed from that idea for his "Cristine" novel/movie.

Yeah I saw it, nervous old Bat, drove off and left the kid to die when a phone was 20' away.

I liked it when the car coulda run him over but instead opened the door and drove him to the Police station
