Anyone see Donnie Darko?

I just saw it yesterday and it was THE best movie I have ever seen. If you have not seen it, rent it. The plot is unbelievably complex. It's about a kid with emotional problems who is haunted by a freaky six foot rabbit guy.

Talk Watch out for the rabbit!!

...he told me everyone would see this movie, sometime within the next 24 days, 12 hours....

Rabbits and squirrels are friends. He calls me Blinky. I call him Mr. Fred.

EDIT: His name is Frank, not Fred... He has reminded me rather emphatically...

Great movie indeed. The plot is not THAT "unbelievably complex", the idea is quote old and been through few books, but presented well in the movie. Great OST, too.

HAHAHA!!! Just one thing Crazyray...why Mr. Fred? Has everyone forgot...HARVEY? You know, the 1950's Jimmy Stewart comedy?

Hmmm...Crazyray...Harvey... (the whole thing was all Crazyray's fault, you know... )

Hmmm....upon reflection, I've decided Crazyray is engaging in MAJOR leg pulling here...

btw, CR....good to see you back around these parts!

Knothead has a point...but apparently he has not seen "Donnie Darko". "Harvey" had Jimmy Stewart as a man who could see an invisible rabbit. "Donnie Darko" is "Harvey" on acid.

No, Mr. Frank, I wasn't saying anything bad about you. How much time do I have left? Why do I need a map of airline flight patterns?

No wonder he was pissed...his name is FRANK. I was callin' him FRED. NEVER piss off a 6 foot tall rabbit!

I forgot to check back on this thread. I watched the director's comments and I learned a lot of stuff I didn't know about the movie: When Donnie was riding his bike down the hill at the beginning of the movie, that red Trans Am(?) was Frank's. Also Frank was Elizabeth Darko's boyfriend. He was the one who dropped her off right before the jet engine hit the house. My favorite scene was when Frank appeared in the Movie theater when Gretchen was asleep. That has to be one of the weirdest moods in a movie, ever.

Me and my gf rented that movie a couple of weeks ago.. could someone explain to me what the movie was about exactly other than he was mental and saw a 6ft rabbit and was facinated about the future?? I mean was there something I missed or a hidden message.. I just didn't understand it.

BTW.. as Patrick Swazy said.. "don't a be a victim of your fear, conquer it with love"
