Anybody Know a GOOD Cell Phone Company ? SPRINT PCS Has Become

Horrendous.

Bought phones many years ago 'cause don't like contracts and rates were cheaper. Knew no cell phone is "FREE".

Those were the days.

Now you pay for phones UP Front and THEN sign a Contract.

The thing with SPRINT PCS: WATCH OUT for whenever they have a promotion. The purpose of a Promotion is to get you OFF any good thing about the Plan that attracted you in the first place.

When I changed my service for the "better", I discovered I was being charged for Evening hours starting at 8;00 PM , not 7:PM as before. Then 9:00PM.

When I added another add-a-phone to the two phones, the hit me with Three Add-a-Phone charges instead of one more.

Bought a new phone for my elderly Mother for security. Phone not working. Give me "refurbished" phone and "refurbished (?) battery. That Phone didn't workeither. So they want to charge me the $10 X-tra a month for each month it didn't work--which is always.

Plus hit me with TWO MORE Add a Phone charges instead of one more as changed their policy but didn't tell me. If they had, I would have gone to another Co..

SO, AGAIN, whn I changed any aspect of Service, they refigured WHOLE plan from start and DIDn'T Forewarn me.

ONLY TELL YOU what you are getting--NOT what you are giving up for ANY minor change.

This is their basic business model. Get people to buy their phones up front--which don't work with any other Cell-phone Co.;have "promotions" to DIVEST you of any good parts to their plan--and , you guessed it, blame the Victim.

They got almost any Computer Co. beat in that regard!

Heard there was a class action suit against them--not on SPRINT SUCKS.

DOOOG, of course will pursue matter.

DOOOOOG

Anybody know of a good Co. I could take my business to ?

I have Voicestream-39.99 pm for 500 anytime and unlimited weekends. No roamin and no long distance charges. Very good service. Only downside-the unlimited is only weekends. Its better to have for nites too.

Well, after having Sprint for a while, it looks to me that they lower the radio transmission strength in the evening...
My boyfriend calls me a lot at night from home and his signal strength drops in half with the sunset.. (as does mine)
Remember, nothing is free..

I've heard Voicestream isn't so good outside of the NE area.. they also have service down here in VA, but if I go up to Canada or Michigan I gotta have SERVICE! lol
I'm currently with SprintPCS haven't changed my plan in ages
Still with a pathetic 380 mins a month lol
(180 day, 200 night) however, I like the phone itself and can't really afford a new one
not to mention really don't want to change my #

Yeah, I checked into Vouicestream once. had a Northeast plan but not Bi-Coastal. Took over that Co. I think with the talking parrot; had a nice feature where cell phones on plan could be used as walkie-talkie to save minutes.

Used to be Bi-Coastal and wanted the Sprint Digital for cheapness and analog for when I was on the road.

Nowadays hardly travel from East to West side of Manhattan.

Anyhow, yeah, as a practical matter , it's hard to switch. Bought phones (three) already.Although am fighting over substituting a good New phone for a lo-end refurbished--"We're out of the phone".

Has become a matter of Principle. Like that recent Post about Business ethics of Chain stores and mom N' Pop.

What really bothers me is that shareholders lose market value of stock, customers get crummy service--and bigshots get 20 $ million dollar bonuses.

Under capitalism, you can bet the Co. is buy the "best" labor at the "lowest" price--just like any other commidity.

I am sure they can get somebody to lose millions for them for less than 20$ million. Maybe somebody is willing to take the job for $5 million. Or one million.

News : Co. lays off 16,000 people. Stock shoots up. CEO gets Bonus. They couldn't get somebody to lay off 16,000 people without paying him $20 million ?

Couldn't they pay him a lousy $million--and save a few thousand of those jobs ? Why don't they use Capitalism to hire CEO's at the lowest price ?

Yeah, I cant help you either. Cause I use Sprint PCS. Never had any problems with them. 3000 minutes for 30$ only phone I need. Dont even have a landline telephone in my flat. I love it. I can go anywhere in PA Ohio, or Michigan that i normally go and never lose service. People can get me wherever I am with no roaming charges or long distance. Sprint Rocks my world. Of course thats cause I havent had problems yet. If I have problems im sure i'll change my tune.
