All the road signs in NYC are put behind the few trees.

This way the Police can make their monthly ticket quota in an afternoon.

Those that can be seen have been stolen.

I saw a picture of a sign in California similar to the one that Richard Cranium posted.

"To cross Ocean, push button" (in the background you could see the beach and Pacific Ocean)
