Seem to have to spend around $150 for a huge one, unless I went to China...then maybe $10.

Anyone have a real gong or used one? I've only seen them in movies.....would be great to find one in an antique store and use it

Wart you could start as judge and pick a theme to start the thread.... everyone can post items..anything related to the theme....and if it isn't entertaining or amusing.....GONG!

If scott is willing to pitch in, the prize could be extra post counts, but if you get gonged you can loose the same post count (the theme could origonally indicate the post count at stake. Also, having a penalty will keep frivolous (sp) posts out )!

yeah but for $150? surely you can spend your money on something more useful....like alcohol
although owning one would be pretty bad ass. I mean imagine scaring the crap out of people with it, the entertainment factor alone would be worth the money.

Hahahah, a brand new high quality (read orchestral) gong will cost you well over $1000. My high school band had one, and we ever used it in one song. Maybe two. It was a 40". LOUD.

Goto a oriental food store in your area and buy a cheap steel wok and pound on it, at least you will have saved LOTS of cash to find out your neighbors now HATE you (and afterwords you can give mom a new cooking utensil)
