yeah well not totally..but school wise yes. So I had two tests on tuesday and I felt pretty happy about em right? So I was excited to get em back today and guess what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I find that basically bombed both of em! Well on my first one I got the class average which was a D which was bad anyway. Then on my IBM midterm I was more excited to get back cause I thought I did really really well. Yeah..well come to find out I do worse than a D. Which is a big fat Fantastic. Yeah so Im extremely mad right now and I need to vent. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a disappointment. Now I have to work twice as hard for a decent grade.

Awww Shute. I hate it when that happens. Sure wish you didn't have to go through that experience. I feel for you and hope that you can get over your frustration and book down and do a kicker job on the rest...... I'm with Neostar, Hang in there!!!!

Huh?? Why is the class "Average" below average?

Seems to me, that would point at the teacher, and not the class.

IMO, teachers should use a "Bell curve" to grade tests with, and then if they are dissatisfied with the progress of the class, then maybe they should direct their attention at their own teaching methods.

Hmmm, good catch Knothead, ya got a good point, if that is class averages that would and possibly point to the instructors teaching style.

well for my first class (MHR) she is extremely hard to understand. She does know her stuff...but the fact that she has a hardcore chinese accent doesn't help things very much. She only really uses these slides and what she calls "humors" (aka comic strips). Its an ok way of teaching I guess but I dont think its effective....plus her teaching doesn't always coinside with the book so it gets confusing there. I'll give it to her when those evaluations come about

My IBM teacher is ok. He just hasn't taught this class in over 5 years. All he really does is lecture...make us take notes and before the test gives us review questions that should help us. The funny thing is that I dont know what I was thinking with the IBM class. I SHOULDA DONE WELL!! I got an 85 on the first test which was hard. And I studied every single one of those questions he gave us. *sigh* guess it was just one of those flukes that happen every so often

I know exactly how you feel man. This whole last semester has been a nightmare for me. My teachers seem to be terrible. The first semester i get decent grades (A's and B's with maybe a couple C's), but tehn all my teachers change and somehow i can't understand what they are talking about and i go in for help and get even more confused. then my parents make an attempt to ground me , but it doens't work well. MY grades have dropped considerably and i'm extremely stressed out.... OH WELL. only 7 more days of school then im out of that hell hole for a couple months.

Usually, in HS anyway, the teachers own up to it when the class gets mostly Ds......at first they usually are like "I don't get it!"....but then we'll spend a few going over teh stuff again and do a retest. Maybe if enough students approach her about a retest, she'll do it?

unfortunately a retest is not plausible in college. Especially in a class of about 150 people. oh well...just gotta accept it and move on I guess. Like I said...I'll just have to do double duty.

So now its time for me to drive Driving is a nice release for me because I get to blast any music I want with no one else b**ching at me. Ahhh...my peaceful R/T here I come!!!
