Weird science question

For lunch, I had a sandwich and oreos packed together in a plastic tote.
The bread and oreos were FRESH, just bought last night. The bread was honey wheat (in case that makes a difference).
When I opened my tote to eat my lunch, the bread was STALE only on the top where I had put the oreos. It was hard as could be. The oreos were so SOGGY! Why did the oreos suck all the moisture out of my bread?? How?

I think it works on a property similar to osomosis ... basically the mopisture tries to even itself out over the entore container, so the oreo's can hold more than the bread, and are made of a more porus material so they would be able to suck more moisture.

I could be totoally off base .. but justs a thought.

You are right Undeadlord

The cookie absorbed all teh moisture from the bread turning the cookie into a sponge....

I have some chocolate (yummy) covered oreo's and I bet they dont absorb the moisture from your bread...

Solution to problem: chuck the sandwich, just bring more cookies.
