Rollie Pollie bugs!!!!

Ack!! My house is being overrun! I'm sure it's becuase it's getting hot and they are seeking the coolness of the house. They are swarming the doorways and all over in the house this morning! (there's prolly a hundred in various stages of life in the house) How long does this "season" last?? I don't want to pay for an exterminator if it will be over in a week. Anyone know? or have any idea what I'm even talking about for that matter?

or know how to spell rollie pollie???

Umm, not sure about the real type of bugs you are talking about, but a search for "roly poly" bugs found this site, which says you might have them if your environment is too wet and mulchy

Not true, is it Surreal??

PS I found someone who might come and catch 'em all for ya!

Just your "Gomers a Nerd Fact of the Day" for you...

Rollie Pollies are crustaceans like crabs (Class Malacostraca). How they differ from insects...

The head has two compound eyes, two pairs of antennae, and three pairs of mouthparts. The abdominal segments have swimmerets (swimming legs). The circulatory system is open; there is no heart and the "blood" is pumped by vessels into sinuses, and does not flow in a closed loop).

The biggest difference is they have gills. Which is way they need to live in damp places. With out moistness, their gills cannot function and they sufocate. So if ya want to get rid of your pill bug problem, find the damp thing they are living under and make it go away.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... Wooopity Doo! =)

Well, that explains why they are dying! No water here..
They prolly feel more humidity on and under the foundation and come in just to dry up and die..

It's like they just walk around, slower and slower, then stop and croak! Ick!

Heck I'd be happy if they'd do the dishes!

Ahhhh, woodlice, common in rotting wood, under flowerpots etc. Totally harmless.

To kill individual ants, earwigs (dunnow what you call them), wasps, flies and the like, use a strong mix of household detergent and water, spray from a bottle and they die.
