Oil shortage?

There are a lot of folks who can't understand how we came to have an oil
shortage here in the USA.

Well, there's a very simple answer. Nobody bothered to check the oil !! We
just didn't know we were getting low.

The reason for this is purely geographical. All the oil is in Oklahoma,
Texas, Louisiana, Wyoming, etc.

All the dipsticks are in Washington, DC.

We've got enough oil in our country alone to last nearly 75 years at the current consumption (estimate made in 2000), which by most professional estimates, is until about 2050 (considering an increase in the usage). And we use mostly other country's oil anywho. They've been very limited on what US oil deposits can be tapped and how much.

Ya know, just incase the rest of the world runs out, we'll have enough to conqueor them.



But who knows how accurate that is...did they shorten it to makes us more conservative, or lengthen to put us at ease? Who knows with politics...they cloud the truth something fearce. Besides, we need to find an alternate source of energy anyway. This combustion method is playing hell on our habitat (which in turn does the same to us).
