I'm absolutely addicted to TechIMO! A few reasons not in any particular order:

1) I love helping others--it's very gratifying to post up answers that really help someone out of a jam!

2) Getting help from others--also very gratifying! You guys are always there when I need ya!

3) The people--I've never met a more fun, mature bunch of folks to "hang out" with...great age range and geographical separation leads to some interesting conversation. I love you guys!

4) The ideas! I've learned so much about computers and much, much more!

5) Great links! Awesome links to pics, great deals, free stuff, woodworking help!!!, etc...

6) Advice--I've made some major buying decisions based off of your opinions.

I could sit here for a looong time and post up reasons why I simply can't stay away from TechIMO. It has easily become my favorite website...I haven't gone a day without visiting TechIMO since the day I signed up! Here's a quote of mine from an older thread about my son:
"...when I first found this website I wasn't sure if I would even sign up...I'm so glad I did, it's more than just a tech support page. It's not often that I share my personal life with people that I don't really know too well, but you all make me feel welcome. Thank you!"

Because you can argue almost any point of view, and there's no danger of a fist fight breaking out! Saved me many a broken nose, I'll tell you!

#2 reason:

Because the mods will stand for all kinds of silly sh!t like "Harvey the Private Hamster" or "What's your favorite brand of toilet tissue?"

I found this place because of my friend Surreal. She had mentioned it, showed me what it was, (at the time, I had never seen ANY kind of Forum, talk about a newbie!!)

One night I was bored, so I fired it up, and just for laughs, signed on.... The way this crowd came right outta the screen at me is still a favorite story of mine!

I'd like to say it's the technical support, but you guys know better. It's the personalities here, definitely. I've met people on this board that I wouldn't think twice about putting up in my house, if they needed to visit out here. And for me, that's saying A LOT!

I would have to agree with Knohead on this.

The only reason I came here to start with was, CE had been visiting here for a while, and I saw just how much fun he was having, and how much it helped him, so of course, like a cat, my curiousity got the better of me, and I came over for a peek. After getting to know a few people (This took less than an hour! LOL), I decided to join!

Well, TechIMO is the ONLY forum I have ever hung around for long. I have lurked on lots of tech forums, as I always want to know more about how to get my PC's running better. Most forums I never even posted on, but TechIMO seems to be the rigfht "fit" for me in terms of my ability to help and also to be able to get answers. I love the community here and the way the mods and admins help protect us from ourselves , ansd the way we can encourage one another in all sorts of ways. It's a great feeling knowing I might be able to encourage someone just a little bit, and make their day brighter / happier. And TechIMO allows me to do that!

Let's hope TechIMO never changes (for the worse, anyway ! )

PS I am not sure if either scottw or mstablle are cute , but they certainly are AWESOME in my opinion for creating and maintaining a site like this. Keep it up guys!!! And also the great mods here help keep it a great place to post - so keep it up guys / gals as well!
