Talk Meet my cow...

I'm also using a P II 266, but it's running Win98 (!).

I created this beast out of mostly leftover parts...I bought one of those Premio cases with power supply, floppy and mobo from CompGeeks ($20), added one of their $5 soundcards, bought the CPU on EBAY for $5, and a vid card (also EBAY) for $5. I had a Quantum Bigfoot HDD laying around (actually in use as a doorstop) and an old CD-ROM. Add a bit of memory from my cache and VOILA'!!, I've got one bitchin' cow!

I use it for word processing...and playing MP3's (that's why I needed the soundcard...)

Edit: Gee, I failed to mention the Packard Bell monitor with the speakers mounted on the side....

Ain't it great to live in the computer age?

I thought mine was bad...

HP Pentium 75Mhz
16MB RAM (I do not care to open up and look to see which kind) 400MB (not too sure..) HD
quad speed CD-ROM
cheap $8 speaker
2MB VGA graphic card
13" monitor

but I see that there are worst out there.

heard say this was the same computer they used 6 years ago at my work. At least someone installed Win98...

Well, at work I have a Celery 400 with 64 MB RAM running windows 95B. I feel your pain, Martoch, believe me!!

This thing is connected to a Novel network and runs Office apps over the LAN, locally runs Lotus Notes and an emulator for the AS400 mainframe, but still takes up to FIVE full minutes to boot up (just to get to the Novel logon screen), then another two - three minutes to load up the apps. That's up to EIGHT minutes just to boot! Coffeee time!

I feel your pain.

Cheers
Mick

I'm running Win 95 on Dell Optiplex GXa, P2-266 with 64 MB, 4 GB HD. This thing is headed for the scrap heap pretty soon, so I'm bringing it home.
